Having recently discovered the world of thrillers, I asked to my mom, a thriller/mystery addicted, who suggested me to try  Camilla Läckberg’s books. When I saw this book at Feltrinelli Express in Rome, while looking for something to read on the airplane, I could not resist and I bought it.

Apart from the title that I find beautiful and intriguing, the description that defines it as “in the style of Agatha Christie” I was captured. The book, rather short, is a collection of five short stories:1. Dreaming Elisabeth2. The Coffee of the Widows3. An elegant death4. A hellish day5. The scent of almonds

The fifth is the longest and the book is named after it , while the others are extremely short (less than 10 pages each). All are, in my opinion, excellent beginning for broader stories and I’d like to read them in the form of books, especially “The Coffee of the Widows”. I find that this book is ideal for approaching mystery and Läckberg’s style .  Her writing is fluid, says nothing more than is needed, not waste of time on unnecessary descriptions and she goes straight to the point. A  really enjoyable book that you’ll read all in a couple of hours. Do yourself a favor and add this little gem to your libraries.
